Made egg mayo sandwiches for breakfast and fried rice for lunch... Did half of my french homework; French essay is still not done! I think I'll do it in the morning.. Perks of having an afternoon class. :)

Ayam Lemak Cili Padi - Spicy Chicken with Creamy Coconut Milk

The whole world is at Paris/Spain/Amsterdam etc. and I have decided to be a good girl today and stay at home. :P Anyway, it's foggy outside; photos wouldn't have turned out nice.

I think I can make money selling postcards eh? *just kidding* :D Ok, I better do my homework. For those of you who say that I'm preparing to be a chef instead of studying... Well, you're 3/4 right. (kidding :D)

Flora - Not many flowers in winter here. :) Ok, I'd love to upload more photos but I'm saving my bandwidth for American Idol and voip calls. :D

From top left clockwise: French toast (egg with fried onions); fish and chips; potatoes with egg, onion, crabmeat and topped with pepper; prawn noodles with broccoli, crabmeat and egg.

Just got back from Carrefour and there were sales. :) Bought a lovely pillowcase at 75% off (2 euros!), 3 sets of socks (1 set - 3 socks; Buy 2 sets, get 1 free!), dishwashing liquid (Buy 2, get 1 free) and plenty more. In dire times like these, especially for the poor exchange student in expensive Europe, one needs to think long term!

I've been thinking about what to cook for the past hour; this is what happens when you suddenly have an abundance of ingredients at hand! I think I shall save my chicken drumsticks and cook something good tomorrow. Stay tuned eh? :)

Saw one of the most beautiful sunsets today which capped one of the best days here since my 20kg box has finally reached me! Many many thanks to Karan for helping me carry the box! I have now replenished my supplies of books, food, sauces, clothes and more; made ayam kicap tomato today to finish up the last of my chicken drumsticks.

It still has yet to snow! Am heading to town tomorrow, hopefully it'll snow! :)

Bonjour tout le monde!

So I'm just back from a day trip! Due to limited bandwidth, I can only show a small collage of my 297 photos. :P Went to see le Pont de Normandie (2nd photo), Honfleur (a pretty little town; 4-11th photos) and Dieppe (a coastal town; the rest of the photos). It was super fun with beautiful scenery and excellent weather (at times) and best of all, Hafeed was an excellent driver, guide and French teacher! J'adore absolument Paulina aussi. :) Thanks to Shekhar for giving us the tip about driving trips!

Can someone be absolutely lovely and help me record American Idol on DVD-Rs? :( I will be eternally grateful.

I made tiger lily + mushroom + chicken + egg + carrots + onions + green veggie soup yesterday! I chanced upon a halal boucherie in town as I was walking towards the flea market. Of course I bought 1 kg of drumsticks yeah? :D

Pictures of the area around Place Saint Vivien - The last one was at the flea market. Today's temperature is so cold (5 deg Celsius apparently)! Walked out in the morning and the grass was iced; came back to a fog with visibility of 150-200m.. Of all days, I forgot to bring my gloves and my camera. :P

Going to the hostel admin and then heading to Geopolitics class..

Bonjour tout le monde!

Erm nothing's new at the moment.. Classes have started.. Took a french test yesterday. Tripped on the stairs AGAIN yesterday. There's something wrong with my timetable, so hopefully everything will sort itself out by next week. Am at school and making use of the free internet. Will try to upload photos now (I hope it's unlimited bandwidth here. :P).

Winter @ Mont-Saint-Aignan - Ok this will be the last of the photos that I'm putting up.. Have been doing nothing but cook, cook and cook (and take photos of what I've cooked). I've used up more than 100MB of my 3GB limit of bandwidth! Will probably not go online so often... Take care everybody!

Bonjour tout le monde!

I tripped on a kerb while crossing the road and twisted my recovering ankle, so now it's recovering again. :P Twisted ankles aside, I have just gotten my hostel room yesterday!

Edit: Have removed my postal address due to security reasons (darling gracia wants me to!).. Just drop me an email if you need it!

None of the travel adaptors (except one) that I brought can be used here! There's a metal thing portruding in the middle of the two holes which none of my adaptors have a hole for. Dang.

I can only show a collage of my photos because I have limited bandwidth (3GB) per month. :P Will see how towards the end of the month if I have the bandwidth to upload some nice photos. Have already taken more than 200 photos. :P

Have been up since 7 every morning! Sun rises at around 9 am and sets at around 5 pm. Will walk around the area and explore, hopefully I'll find more halal places to eat at (very few). Have been surviving on what I have brought so far... Did some shopping at Carrefour. Thank goodness my French is good enough to survive!
